Launched in 2014, Police Now trains graduates and career changers with leadership potential to be inspirational police officers and outstanding crime fighters on our National Graduate Leadership Programme as well as our new National Detective Programme. What you’ll do 

As a Graduate Recruitment Officer, you will be on the frontline ensuring that Police Now has a pipeline of talented and diverse individuals committed to our mission of community transformation. You’ll work with candidates throughout their application journey, supporting them throughout each stage of the selection and onboarding process until they start in our academy. 

Your role will be to:  

  • Achieve a target of c80-120 diverse hires for your dedicated police forces across both our flagship National Graduate Leadership Programme and National Detective Programme 
  • Maintain an exceptional standard of candidate contact throughout the end-to-end recruitment process to build relationships with candidates, engaging and supporting them with each stage through regular communication, persuasive techniques and relationship management skills  
  • Co-ordinate the post-offer and onboarding process for your candidates, working closely with your force contacts to ensure candidates progress through their checks efficiently and with care  
  • Cultivate relationships with future participants through regular and tailored communication to ensure they are prepared to start our programmes 
  • Develop strong relationships with several police forces across England and Wales, working closely with your contacts internally and externally to ensure the target number of hires start our training academy
  • Deliver attraction and marketing events as required to build our candidate pipelines, particularly in your force areas
  • Support on Selection processes as required (particularly during peak periods), including reviewing application forms, assessing at our assessment centres
  • Ad hoc duties to support our busy team, including responding to queries in our FAQ inbox

What you need 

  • Proven graduate recruitment experience, preferably in a high-volume environment and a strong understanding of the university student through to graduate cycle 
  • Detailed awareness of key graduate recruitment marketplace issues and ability to communicate these succinctly 
  • Proven background in proactively managing high-volume candidate pipelines in a tailored and strategic way and using pipeline insights to improve delivery of candidate interactions
  • Experience developing and nurturing external and internal stakeholder relationships across multiple levels
  • Outstanding project management skills combined with examples of actual delivery
  • A strategic mindset and the ability to manage change, ambiguity and high levels of complexity
  • Confidence in persuasive communication, including pitching and presenting in public as well as one-on-one to influence target audiences
  • High level of planning and organising ability, with confidence managing multiple activities and deadlines, strong project management skills and good judgement and decision making to consider conflicting priorities
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • Willingness to travel within England and Wales and to work occasional evenings as required
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
