About the role

Working within our largest divison, this is an exciting opportunity for a commerically minded accounting professional looking to develop their analytical skill set.

The responsibilities will include:

  • managing the budget and planning process
  • monitoring and evaluating the Division’s performance with findings, implications and suggested actions communicated to the Commercial Accountant
  • acting as an effective business partner across the organisation in helping to develop and deliver short, medium, and long term strategies
  • supporting the Commercial Accountant and the Division in strategic decision making and analysis in all areas of the business in order to deliver the mission of the Press
  • market and competitor analysis
  • Ad-hoc reporting.

About you

The idea candidate will be:

  • Studying towards the final stages of a recognised accounting qualification or qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA)
  • Have the ability to successfully implement these new ideas
  • Be a strong decision maker
  • Be outgoing, persuasive and a confident communicator with internal and external stakeholders of all levels
  • Have strong Excel modelling skills including extracting and summarising data from reports, controls around linked files, error checks etc
  • Have the ability to present complex information coherently to large audiences
  • Have proven experience of planning and budgeting with a clear view on how to present the information and make recommendations
  • Be discrete and trustworthy as required to work with sensitive and confidential information.
