About the role

In this role you will be responsible for managing a small team and carrying out integrated marketing campaigns for our leading Secondary humanities portfolio. In this varied role, you will maximise reach and engagement through exceptional content marketing, using a wide range of marketing channels.

You will work closely with Sales and Editorial colleagues from concept, through to acquisition and retention, playing an integral part in product development and the customer value proposition.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Developing marketing strategies to ensure that all activity is effective and generates maximum return on investment.
  • Devising and taking ownership over the core customer strategies for your area, identifying acquisition and retention targets to inform sales and marketing plans and to feed into publishing decision making.
  • Developing forecasts, backorder and adoption targets, as well as other key performance indicators, to ensure business targets are met or exceeded.
  • Developing and managing third party relationships, partnerships and co-marketing arrangements
  • Leading a small team of marketing professional
  • Setting and controlling the marketing budget for your area, assigning appropriate sub-budgets to your team, ensuring that appropriate levels of spend are allocated to initiatives and key projects.

About you

To be successful, you will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills and be comfortable working in a busy, matrix organisation, acting as an ambassador for our products and services internally and externally.

You should also demonstrate

  • A proven track record of delivering customer focused integrated marketing campaigns
  • The ability to manage a small team
  • Strong market awareness with excellent customer focus
  • Development of target customer segments and engagement strategy
  • The monitoring and analysis of competitor activity
  • Copywriting skills with close attention to detail
  • The ability to manage a busy and varied workload
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise effectively
  • Confidence with data and systems
  • Experience of budget management

A marketing qualification and experience of the UK schools market is desirable.

Up to £40,000 per annum depending on skills and experience
