About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Marketing Assistant to join our busy journals marketing team.

The Marketing Assistant is responsible for providing support across a list of prestigious medical journals, assisting with the marketing campaign implementation to ensure that key promotional activities are carried out on time and to budget.

Core responsibilities of the role include:

  • assisting Marketing Managers to implement and report on key campaigns in order to execute each journal’s marketing strategy
  • carrying out essential marketing tasks using a full range of digital and social media marketing tools, as well as print, advertising, and conference promotion (including some international travel)
  • helping to prepare marketing reports and plans
  • working closely with colleagues in Editorial, Exhibitions, Web Marketing, PR, social media, and other teams
  • researching markets key to our titles, and carrying out required data analysis

This is a fixed term contract of 51 weeks.

About you

Some experience of working within a marketing and/or publishing environment would be preferable but is not essential.

The ideal candidate will have: Essential:

  • excellent organisation and prioritisation skills with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • exceptional attention to detail with the ability to work accurately and quickly without supervision
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • a strong sense of initiative with the ability to make appropriate suggestions for improvements to both marketing campaigns and working practices
  • highly creative and have a can-do, positive attitude


  • knowledge of social media channels
  • experience of using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.), and a knowledge of HTML would be an advantage
