Nottingham City Homes are looking for a Rent Support Officer to join their team.

£25,481 to £27,041 per annum

37 hours per week based within Nottingham City

Maternity cover/secondment opportunity

Nottingham City Homes are currently on the lookout for an enthusiastic, customer focused individual to join our Rents team as a Rents Support Officer to support Nottingham City Homes tenants claiming Universal Credit.

Fully up to date with housing and welfare benefits legislation and developments, you will have experience of supporting vulnerable customers to sustain their tenancies together, ideally, with some knowledge of rent collection. An excellent communicator, skilled at building relationships with other agencies in the voluntary/third sector, you will also have a sensitive yet professional approach.

It will be your responsibility to provide a proactive and dedicated service to our tenants to encourage responsible rent payment and ensure tenancy sustainability. You will help applicants and tenants to understand and maximise their entitlement to benefits. You will play a vital role in supporting tenants through the first period of their Universal Credit claims ensuring their awards are correct.

We will look to you to provide an effective and customer focused housing income collection service. You will help to maximise rental income and ensure that appropriate advice and assistance is given to tenants to ensure their rent is paid. You will make agreements with tenants to pay any outstanding rent arrears.
