SALES & EVENTS MANAGER

 REPORT TO:

Operations Manager

KEY RELATIONSHIP:

Directors, operations managers, general managers, marketing team and team members at all levels.  Externally, identify new business opportunities with customers and commercial /community/organisations.

 PURPOSE OF ROLE:

To manage and pro-actively identify new business opportunities in order to maximise bookings in our venues.  Convert these opportunities to sales in order to increase revenue.  Liaise with the Operations Team to prioritise activity.  Collaborate with the marketing team to create sales and promote special events and occasions.  Represent the Company at internal and external events when required.

 KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Contribute to the overall achievement of revenue targets and deliver on personal targets by generating new business leads and converting to sales
  • Proactively develop new business through identifying, researching and approaching contacts
  • Identify and research market trends and competitors in order to propose sales driving strategies
  • Analysing stats or other data to determine the level of sales achieved
  • Update and maintain systems for the effective management of all enquiries, booking and related correspondence
  • Provide excellent customer service and promote standards throughout the Company
  • Providing help and advice to customers
  • Daily checks with marketing regarding social media, internal email activity and venue promotions.

 SKILLS & EXPERIENCE RELEVANT TO THE ROLE:

  • Successful track record of working in a sales environment, with knowledge of sales techniques
  • Experience of working to sales and revenue targets, with strong negotiation skills to agree and close bookings
  • Good level of numeracy skills with the ability to interpret and understand data to drive sales
  • Highly organised, with the ability to effectively prioritise
  • Excellent written and telephone communication skills
  • Strong IT and database skills (Microsoft excel, powerpoint, word)
  • Articulate and confident, creative and intuitive with a professional, customer focused and proactive ‘can do’ approach
  • Ability to work under pressure to deadlines
  • Proven track record of working in a team environment
  • Ability to operate in an autonomous and independent manner within agreed parameters.
