About the roles

BWB Consulting has exciting opportunities for Track Design Engineers at all levels based in our Manchester office as the multidisciplinary rail team goes through a period of rapid expansion.

The Track Design Engineers will work on heavy rail, metro and light rail projects to deliver our healthy forward workbank.

Opportunities also exist to work on international projects based either in the UK or in the project country.

About the team

The Rail team is growing due to a healthy forward workbank. The team provides a comprehensive design and advisory service focused on meeting the engineering challenges involved in providing smart and value-for-money solutions to renewal and enhancement projects.  Working across the heavy rail, metro and light rail industries and our clients range from internal (CAF Rail), local and national developers and contractors to public sector bodies. Opportunities exist to work on high profile international projects either from the UK or in the project country. We aim to create a working environment that provides challenge, enjoyment and a real sense of satisfaction with a view to encouraging personal and professional development in all our staff.

About you

The successful candidate will be PWI accredited or working towards accreditation. Experience in track design of high speed and or light rail / metro nationally and internationally would also be advantageous.

Knowledge of Network Rail Grip stages and also experience of Bentley software such as Bentley Rail Track and Microstation.

Whilst academic qualifications appropriate to the roles are important, attributes such as problem solving, communication, personal organisation and team working will help candidates stand out.  Above all we seek demonstrable enthusiasm, ambition and a willingness to learn.

Applicants should have attained four or more years practical design experience and should have qualified at HNC/D or equivalent academic level as a minimum.
