The role will provide an opportunity for an individual to demonstrate a broad range of skills by undertaking specialist technical work, whilst working as part of a wider, integrated and progressive multidiscipline engineering team. Our work is varied and widespread - spanning the full lifecycle of a development - supporting our clients on projects both locally and throughout the UK. We value innovation, while always seeking to provide commercial solutions to complex development issues.

Your must have experience in all commonly used structural materials and be able to draw on this experience to produce commercially aware design solutions which enhance our reputation with developers and contractors as innovative engineers with a sound commercial footing.

About the team

Our Buildings and Built Environment Group has extensive experience and real expertise in delivering cost effective, energy efficient and environmentally sustainable building projects across a diverse sector range.

From designing new buildings through to adapting, refurbishing and maintaining existing building stock, our principle of applying intelligent design, flexibility and innovation remains constant. Advanced computer modelling techniques enable us to resolve complex issues quickly and efficiently.

The team has projects in the leisure, education, residential, commercial, health and retail sectors. This work has clients ranging from local and national developers and contractors to major private sector companies. This expanding team will encourage career progression for the right person. While our experience in depth and breadth, fosters a culture of professionalism with flair.

About you

With strong IT skills and a practical approach, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their ability to lead a project team, manage complex workloads, technicians and engineers to achieve commercial viability of projects. As a multi-disciplinary consultancy we expect that you are familiar with other disciplines and as such are able to lead multi-disciplinary projects both at a technical and commercial level.

You will demonstrate strong communication and personal effectiveness skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships at all levels internally and particularly with external design team members and clients.

Skills and attributes such as problem-solving, communication, personal organisation, team-working skills and the ability to work under pressure are also highly desired.

Chartered Engineer status is desirable, preferably IStructE but experience and knowledge are key.

You will have Ten years of proven experience in structural engineering consultancy and running multidisciplinary projects.
