About the role

This is a contract position to support the existing IT and Service Desk team based BWB’s head office in Nottingham. The role’s primary duties are 1st line IT support, handling and managing service and incident requests, however due to the small team and broadness of IT requests this role will be required to delivery 2nd line level tasks.


About the team

The internal ICT team delivers, manages and supports all aspects of ICT service to the BWB group of Companies and its people. The team is small which brings it’s own challenges, the environment can be fast paced, but allows us to create a flat team structure that provides enjoyment and a real sense of satisfaction and we encourage personal and professional development in line with technology advancements. We work with selected partners to identify and provide IT systems to support and add value to our engineering and environmental design consultancy services.


About you

You will be able to demonstrate a professional approach in the working environment and have proven technical and service delivery skills required for a customer facing, first point of contact role.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide support and assistance for all contact to the IT Service Desk through multiple channels (phone, walk-in, email and self-service portal).
  • Ensure that all incidents and service requests are logged and assigned correctly.
  • Provide a first-class customer experience; taking ownership of tickets raised and providing updates as requested.
  • Provide request resolution and basic fault finding/diagnostics using appropriate support tools; obtain appropriate detail for escalation as required.
  • Ensure access and security authorisation policies and processes are adhered to.
  • Maintain IT hardware asset management database through product build, refresh and disposal.

Technical knowledge and experience required:


  • Proven 1st/2nd line support experience.
  • Microsoft Office 2010 (& above) knowledge and experience
  • Windows 7 (& above) support experience
  • Active Directory User Setup
  • VOIP telephony support, eg Gamma Horizon


  • Office 365 Administration.
  • Knowledge and ability to build and administer hardware eg. desktops, laptops, mobile phones.
  • Troubleshooting of networking issues (connectivity inc cabling patching and routing, etc).
  • Experience and knowledge of Windows Server management tools.
