About the role

BWB Consulting has an exciting opportunity for a Technician to be based in our Birmingham office.

The role provides an opportunity to grow and develop in a fast-paced, professional environment with support from experienced engineers and technicians which would quickly see you producing design solutions and AutoCAD drawings for our civil engineering projects.

You will work within a larger team delivering designs for highway and infrastructure schemes, with an emphasis on skills development to help you up the learning curve. You will quickly start working more independently.

The position is for a professional with strong aspirations to pursue a career in civil engineering, notably highway and infrastructure schemes.

About the team

We are in the middle of very exciting times for the Transport & Infrastructure team and indeed for BWB as a whole. As well as recently celebrating our 25th anniversary, we are looking to grow this dynamic and integral team.

We provide a comprehensive design and advisory service focused on meeting the engineering challenges involved in servicing the infrastructure requirements of regeneration, development and public sector projects. We work across the transport, residential, commercial, industrial, health and retail sectors and our clients range from local and national developers and contractors to public sector bodies.

We aim to create a working environment that provides challenge, enjoyment and a real sense of satisfaction with a view to encouraging personal and professional development in all our staff.

Our talented and experienced design teams fuse local knowledge with national design standards and legislation in a manner that enables BWB to undertake a wide variety of projects ranging from local area traffic management improvements to complex multi-modal transport interchanges.

About you

You have strong IT skills and be experienced in the use of Microsoft Office applications and AutoCAD. Experience using Civil 3D is also desirable. This experience combined with a practical approach, you will be able to demonstrate your ability to work well in a team environment whilst also having personal initiative.

You will also be able to demonstrate strong communication and personal effectiveness skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships at all levels.

We expect that candidates will need to have at three to five years relevant industry experience.
