About the role

BWB Consulting has an exciting opportunity for a Technician / Engineer to be based in our London office.

The role provides an opportunity to grow and develop in a fast-paced, professional environment. With support from experienced engineers and technicians, and appropriate training, you will soon be producing AutoCAD drawings for civil engineering design solutions.

You will start work on smaller projects, with an emphasis on skills development to help you up the steep initial learning curve. You will quickly start working more independently on larger and more challenging projects.

The Company will recognise your commitment and the need to develop your skills by funding appropriate further education courses (up to degree level) and by granting paid time off to study. This will give you the qualifications to accompany the practical experience you will gain thus contributing to your future career prospects.

The position is for a professional with strong aspirations to pursue a career in civil engineering.

About the team

We are in the middle of very exciting times for the Transport & Infrastructure team and indeed for BWB as a whole and are looking to grow this dynamic and integral team.

We provide a comprehensive design and advisory service focused on meeting the engineering challenges involved in servicing the infrastructure requirements of regeneration and development projects.

We work across the transport, residential, commercial, industrial, health and retail sectors and our clients range from local and national developers and contractors to public sector bodies.  We aim to create a working environment that provides challenge, enjoyment and a real sense of satisfaction with a view to encouraging personal and professional development in all our staff.

Our talented and experienced design teams fuse local knowledge with national design standards and legislation in a manner that enables BWB to undertake a wide variety of projects ranging from local area traffic management improvements to complex multi-modal transport interchanges.

BWB have recently won two major accolades from the ACE (Association for Consultancy and Engineering) annual Consultancy and Engineering Awards 2016:  Best UK Business Performance for a Medium-Sized Firm, and Training Initiative of the Year.

About you

Whilst academic qualifications appropriate to the roles are important, attributes such as problem solving, communication, personal organisation and team working will help candidates stand out.  Above all we seek demonstrable enthusiasm, ambition and a willingness to learn.

Applicants with some experience in the construction industry, either through work experience or as part of an academic course, are ideally sought.  Such candidates will be expected to be computer literate and ideally to have used AutoCAD.
